Tech S2
Announces Release of CaseScribePC
Wireless Dictation and Transcription Solution
New
Desktop Version of Server-based Automated Speech
Recognition Solution Delivers Accurate
Transcriptions via Internet in Minutes, Utilizes Low
Cost Input Devices.
Solution Includes Medical, Legal and General
Vocabularies.
LANSING,
New York, April 7, 2006
– Tech S2, Inc. today announced the release of CaseScribePC, the new desktop version of their
CaseScribe hosted automated speech recognition
transcription solution that allows users to dictate
using a headset at their desktop PC, or upload audio
files from a handheld digital voice recorder.
CaseScribe, a product of Tech S2, is a web-based
application service (ASP) solution combining the
power of speech recognition and the convenience of
the Internet in a complete digital dictation and
transcription tool. CaseScribe’s unique,
patent-pending technology automatically transcribes
remotely dictated voice notes, and securely makes
the transcription available from any location via
any standard web browser in minutes, 24 hours a day,
7 days a week.
“CaseScribe
is an easy-to-use, accurate, and secure digital
dictation and transcription tool. Now, with a
headset or any digital voice recorder, and 1 minute
of training, a user can begin using CaseScribePC,
and get dictations securely and accurately
transcribed, from any location that has access to
the Internet in just minutes,” said Mark Wheeler,
president and CEO, Tech S2, Inc. “With automated
continual training, accuracy can be as high as 99%.”
CaseScribePC
and CaseScribePDA
CaseScribePC
is designed for users dictating at a Windows based
desktop, laptop or tablet PC, using a headset;
dictated audio files can also be uploaded
from a handheld
digital voice recorder (with PC connectivity). CaseScribePDA,
released in September 2005, supports mobile voice
dictation – using
the CaseScribe voice recording software, users
dictate remotely using a wireless enabled Windows
Mobile handheld PDA (with wireless Internet
capability) or PDA smart phone (with Internet
capability). The voice
files are then securely uploaded to the CaseScribe
servers, where they are immediately transcribed,
stored, and ready for review in minutes.
“CaseScribe
allows me to dictate my clinical records and receive
my transcribed notes in minutes. These notes can
then be placed into my electronic clinical database
in seconds. Prior to CaseScribe, my notes were
either handwritten into paper documents or typed
into our electronic documentation, which was much
more difficult for both myself and my staff,” said
Dr. John C. Comisi, D.D.S., in Ithaca, NY. “We are
getting closer to a “paperless” office and
CaseScribe has made this an easier goal to achieve
in my office. It’s an invaluable tool!”
Easy, Secure, Fast Transcription
With
CaseScribe, users are able to securely access their
transcriptions online at any time, from any
location, using a PC with a standard web browser and
high-speed Internet access, or via the CaseScribePC
desktop application. Transcriptions can also be
viewed, edited, and saved, on a Windows PDA or PDA
phone. Using the CaseScribe web site portal, users,
or their staff, can securely review, edit, and
download their transcriptions -- even listen to the
original dictation. Transcriptions can be edited by
the speaker, or with CaseScribe’s newly enhanced
Editor function, by the existing office staff, or
transcriptionist,
thus
improving office productivity
while cutting transcription costs and errors.
In addition, with a click of the
mouse, the transcription text can be placed into an
electronic medical, legal, or financial records
system.
CaseScribe leverages the Nuance® Dragon
NaturallySpeaking® SDK Server Edition to power
speech recognition in its automated back-end
server-based transcription application, allowing for
private, confidential and dependable transcribing of
dictations. CaseScribe is HIPAA compliant,
utilizing 128 bit SSL technology data encryption,
with fully redundant and mirrored servers, ensuring
reliable, uninterrupted and secure service. With
CaseScribe there is no long term commitment, no
software to buy, no add-on specialty vocabularies to
buy, no maintenance fees, and all upgrades are
automatically included. CaseScribe allows users to
dictate naturally, with minimal training.
Individual speaker training is completed online, and
requires only 1 minute of dictation to create a
voice profile. Users continually train their
speaker voice profile, and can increase accuracy to
as much as 99%. With a standard flat rate of $1.20
per minute of dictated audio, CaseScribe is
equivalent to a rate of 10 cents per line. While
typical industry standard is 24 hour or longer turn
around time, CaseScribe returns transcription
results within minutes. Discounts are available for
high volume customers.
Flexible,
easy to use, and affordable, especially for small
practices, CaseScribe can also benefit larger group
practices, clinics, hospitals, and transcription
providers (MTSOs). Professionals across multiple
industries can take advantage of CaseScribe for the
quick and accurate turnaround of dictated notes,
while in the office, on location, at home, or
traveling, including healthcare practitioners,
attorneys, insurance adjustors, real estate agents,
financial institutions, and veterinarians.
Eliminating the reliance
on written notes and manual transcription,
CaseScribe is the ideal solution for mobile and
office professionals.
According
to Dr. Scott D. Benjamin, D.D.S. from Norwich, NY,
"With CaseScribe it has never been easier for dental
professionals to manage specialized patient data
such as notes specific to oral and facial surgeries
and clinical situations that require detailed notes.
With CaseScribe, dentists can simply dictate into
their PC and within minutes their notes are
transcribed and securely available on their PC for
transfer into their local electronic patient
record". Dr. Benjamin is on the ADA Standards
Committee on Dental Informatics (SCDI) and is
Chairman of the Digital Photography and Imaging
working group, the Data Redundancy, Integrity and
Storage working group and Co-Chairman of the
Electronic Clinical Patient Records working group.
New
Website Launched
With the
release of CaseScribePC, Tech S2, Inc. has also
launched the newly designed CaseScribe website,
designed to be more streamlined with quicker and
easier navigation, and an improved look and feel.
In addition, a PDA version of the website has been
added, at
www.casescribe.com/pda.
Legal
Vocabulary Added
In
addition to medical, medical specialty, and general
transcription vocabularies, CaseScribe has now added
an extensive legal vocabulary. Now legal
professionals at any location can dictate,
wirelessly using CaseScribePDA, or at any desktop PC
using CaseScribePC, and receive accurate, secure,
and fast voice-to-text transcription processing.
With CaseScribe’s new legal vocabulary, attorneys
and their staff will realize increased productivity,
along with reduced transcription costs and
turnaround times.
“We
are excited about the
versatility, time and cost savings CaseScribe
brings to our clients,”
said Mark Wheeler, president and CEO, Tech S2,
Inc. “CaseScribe is the only hosted
transcription service with high accuracy, fast
turn around times, and the flexibility to use a
headset, handheld voice recorder, PDA, and/or
PDA phone as input devices. With the ability to
dictate and access transcriptions anywhere,
anytime, CaseScribe provides customers with the
greatest amount of control over their
transcriptions.”
